PEO Office Improvements: Office Consolidation - Meeting Rooms

Suites 210 and 507

Suites 210 and 507 are designed to provide PEO with additional meeting spaces. In a table configuration, suite 210 will accommodate a meeting up to 16 people and suite 507 will accommodate a meeting up to 26 people. Key design elements that contribute to the functionality of the room:

  • Mobile, flip-top modular meeting tables with sophisticated wire management capabilities that can be easily reconfigured and stored away when not in use.
  • 70” LCD monitor for presentation display.

Suite 104

Suite 104 has been designed to provide PEO with a multi-functional meeting space. Meetings can be set up in a variety of configurations. In a table configuration, the room will seat 26 people and in a theatre style configuration, the room will seat approximately 44 people. Key design elements that contribute to the functionality of the room:

  • Ultra low-profile raised access floor provides easy reconfiguration of power, voice, data and audio visual while maximizing the available room height.
  • Mobile, flip-top modular meeting tables with sophisticated wire management capabilities that can be easily reconfigured and stored away when not in use.
  • One-touch adjustability of room settings for various presentation types – lighting, projection, sun control, etc.
  • Variety of Audio-Visual media : projection, teleconferencing, tackable wall surfaces, erasable glass writing panels, and Brightlink interactive projector.
  • Refreshment centre & built-in coat closet facilities

Tribunal Hearing Room and Experience Requirements Committee (ERC) Interview Rooms (7th Floor)

Rooms with specialized needs have been designed for Tribunal Hearings and Experience Requirements Committee (ERC) Interviews on the 7th floor. The Registration,Discipline and Experience Requirements committees have provided insightful design requirements for these spaces. Based on user group discussions and functional requirements for the rooms, Sound Transmission Class (STC) ratings call for a minimum of STC 55 for these rooms. To provide a high level of acoustic separation, acoustically robust partitions, doors and ceilings have been incorporated into the design. Other salient features:

  • Guest waiting area with refreshment centre and greeter station to provide visitors with a professional and comfortable experience.
  • Ultra low-profile raised access floor in the Tribunals Hearing Room provides easy reconfiguration of power, voice, data while maximizing the available room height.
  • ERC Interview rooms incorporate multi-functionality and can be used for other purposes when not in use by ERC.
  • LEED compliant features:
    • Access to natural light and views
    • Energy efficient light fixtures
    • LEED compliant finishes throughout
    • Energy Star rated appliances

Interim Council Chamber/Multi-Purpose Meeting Room and Dining Facility – 8th Floor

The Interim Council Chamber/Multi-Purpose Meeting Room and Dining Facility has been planned on the 8th floor in the available space on the floor, with the intent of expanding to the full floor when additional space becomes available. To that end, all design decisions were made based on the full floor design:

  • Based on user group discussions and functional requirements for the rooms, Sound Transmission Class ratings call for a minimum of STC 55 for these rooms. To provide a high level of acoustic separation, acoustically robust partitions and ceilings have been incorporated into the design.
  • The interim Council Chamber will be a multi-purpose space, with low-profile raised access to provide easy reconfiguration of power, voice, data and audio visual systems. In a table configuration, the room will seat 60 people and in a theatre style configuration, the room will seat approximately 100 people.
  • The dining space will allow for a multitude of configurations and events

    • Energy efficient light fixtures
    • LEED compliant finishes throughout
    • Energy Star rated appliances

Volunteer Business Centre

As noted above in the section on Ground Floor enhancements, a volunteer business centre adjacent to the large meeting room in suite 104 will be introduced. The business centre will be a place for volunteers to touch-down and access the internet or to engage other volunteers before or after committee meetings and for applicants to complete application forms.
