About the Presenters:
a) Ernst Grell is currently a Territory Manager for Weyerhaeuser / Trus Joist in the Eastern Canada Region. Ernst has over 30 years technical sales experience in the Engineered Wood Industry launching his career with Trus Joist Canada in Calgary, Alberta.
b) Steve Love is a Territory Manager for Weyerhaeuser / Trus Joist in the Eastern Canada Region. Steve is a college graduate from a Civil Engineering Technology program. After graduating from college, Steve accepted a position with Trus Joist Canada where he has been involved with supporting the Trus Joist EWP product line for over 35 years.
Ernst and Steve work closely with the specifying community, builders, code officials, building and component manufacturers and lumber yards for the smooth implementation of Trus Joist EWP in custom home, multi-family, mid-rise and low-rise residential wood framed projects.
Synopsis of the Topic:
Engineered wood, also known as composite/ manufactured wood, is a multipurpose and sustainable material that has gained significant popularity in various engineering applications. They have been made by combining wood strands, veneers, lumber, or other wood fibers with moisture-resistant adhesives to create larger composite structural units, offering improved strength and stability compared to traditional lumber.
