Message from the Chapter Chair
PEO Etobicoke Chapter is one of the thirty-six Chapters of the PEO in the Province of Ontario and is one of the eight chapters that administratively belong to the West Central Region of the PEO. The Chapter serves over 1,000 members residing in central Etobicoke (the western part of the City of Toronto). All professional engineers whose home addresses have postal code prefixes M9A, M9B and M9C belong to the Etobicoke Chapter.

Connecting engineers and communities
Etobicoke Chapter committees

The GLP committee works to ensure that government, elected officials and the public continue to recognize and understand PEO’s regulatory mandate and policy directions.

The Engineering Idol committee works to organize an annual engineering competition for local high school students. Each year, teams of students are presented with a challenge and are invited to apply engineering principles in designing and developing a solution over 8 to 10 weeks. The competition culminates in a fun-filled day where students present their solutions to a panel of judges who are experts in the topic.

The events committee plans and organizes events—networking, recognition, professional development, recreational and more—for chapter members.
Sub-Committees
- The Certificate Presentation Ceremony subcommittee organizes P.Eng. licence certificate presentation ceremonies for new engineers.
- The Continuing Professional Development (CPD) subcommittee organizes professional development activities—seminars, symposiums, technical tours, etc.—for chapter members.
- The Networking subcommittee builds relationships between the Chapter and local business, professional associations and academic institutions.
- The 30x30 subcommittee supports Engineers Canada’s 30 by 30 initiative to raise the percentage of newly licensed engineers in Canada who are woman to 30% by the year 2030.
