Get Ready to Power Up Your Future! The Engineering Design Challenge is Calling YOU!

Hey High School Innovators! Do you want to tackle a real-world challenge, work with a team of your friends, and maybe even win some awesome prizes? Then get ready for an electrifying experience at The Engineering Design Challenge!

The Brampton Chapter of Professional Engineers Ontario and Sheridan College are teaming up to bring you an incredible opportunity to apply your science and technology skills in a fun and exciting competition!

What's the Challenge?

This year, we're diving into the crucial world of renewable energy! With our planet needing cleaner ways to power our lives, wind power is a super important solution. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to design and build your very own wind-powered electricity generator! You'll be working with your team to harness the power of the wind and even use cool electronic devices to measure how much electricity your turbine can produce!

When and Where?

Mark your calendars! The challenge will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2025, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Sheridan College, located at 7889 McLaughlin Rd, Brampton, ON L6Y 5H9. Get ready for a morning packed with creativity and engineering fun!

Team Up for Success!

You'll be working in teams of four students. This is your chance to collaborate, brainstorm, and build something amazing together! And here's a cool twist: your team will discover the list of materials you'll be working with right at the start of the challenge! Get ready to think on your feet and put your problem-solving skills to the test!

Show Off Your Skills and Win Big!

Your amazing wind turbines will be judged in three exciting categories:

• Problem Solving and Design: How creative and effective is your approach to the challenge?
• Construction: How well-built and sturdy is your wind turbine?
• Performance of Product: How much power can your turbine generate?

The top three teams will walk away with fantastic prizes! Imagine the bragging rights!

Everyone's a Winner!

Even if you don't snag one of the top spots, every student who participates will receive a certificate of participation to recognize their hard work and ingenuity! This will be an excellent addition to your resume or university/college applications!
