PEO Chapter Scholarship
The Brampton Chapter is proud to offer a $1,500 scholarship to support and inspire graduating high school students within our chapter's boundaries who are pursuing a career in engineering.
Are you a Grade 12 student with a passion for engineering? This scholarship could help you achieve your academic goals as you embark on your studies in a Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board (CEAB)-accredited engineering program.
Scholarship Amount: $1,500
Who is Eligible to Apply?
- You must be a Grade 12 student graduating from a high school within the Brampton Chapter’s boundaries.
- You must have applied to or been accepted into a CEAB-accredited engineering program in Canada.
What are the Evaluation Criteria? Your application will be assessed based on the following four equally weighted categories:
- Academics (25%): We will consider your top eight senior high school course marks, including at least five Grade 12 courses and a maximum of three Grade 11 courses. Your selection must include at least one mathematics and one science course, and at least three final grades. An official transcript is required with your application.
- Interest in Professional Engineering (25%): In a short essay (maximum 2,000 characters), tell us about your understanding of PEO and the role of a professional engineering licence. Share your participation in engineering-related events or projects, the key technical concepts you learned, and the outcomes. Describe what inspires you to pursue engineering, the strengths that will make you a successful engineer, and your future career goals.
- Resiliency, Leadership and Interpersonal Skills (25%): In another short essay (maximum 2,000 characters), describe challenges you have faced and how you helped overcome them. Discuss any barriers you foresee in obtaining your engineering licence. Highlight your leadership roles and involvement in school, community, or team projects, explaining the goals and how they were achieved. Mention specific accomplishments or attributes that set you apart.
- Employment, Extracurricular and Community Involvement (25%): Describe three of your activities, including your role, the dates of involvement, and the number of hours you contributed to each. Explain your responsibilities and the impact of your contributions. You must also attach a reference letter from a teacher or supervisor from one of these activities. If applicable, please share how you promote science and engineering in your community.
How to Apply:
To apply for the PEO Chapter Scholarship, please complete the application form and submit it along with your official transcript and a reference letter to [email protected] by May 30th.

- Application Deadline: May 30th
- You must submit proof of enrollment in a CEAB-accredited engineering program by October 30th if you are selected to receive the scholarship funds.
