Kenter Novakowski Ph.D., LEL

Professor, Queen’s University, Kingston

Dr. Kent Novakowski is a Professor and the Head of Civil Engineering at Queen’s University, and also the Director of the Water Research Centre at Queen’s. He is an expert in hydrogeology and groundwater engineering – a multi-disciplinary field that calls upon many aspects of engineering analysis and design.

Dr. Novakowski has achieved his leadership position as a result of four key factors: 1. He brings to each problem his expertise in careful experimental methodology. 2. Rigor in his use of applied calculus to develop practical tools for test interpretation. 3. He has worked on a variety of fronts, studying groundwater flow and contaminant transport from the discrete fracture scale, to the scale of fracture networks. 4. He has surrounded himself with numerous highly talented graduate students and worked with many leading consultants and industrial clients.
