Murray C. Temple, Ph.D., P.Eng.
Murray Temple is a distinguished academic and professional who has made a secondary vocation of contributing to his community through public service.
Now retired after a 30-year career as a professor of civil engineering at the University of Windsor, Temple contributed to the engineering profession through participation on PEO Council, committees and task groups, and in such learned societies as the Structural Stability Research Council, the Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board and the Corporation of Seven Wardens. He is also a Fellow of the Engineering Institute of Canada, the Canadian Society for Civil Engineering and the American Society of Civil Engineers.
For 18 years, Temple played an active role on committees and the Board of Directors of the Art Gallery of Windsor, a valuable resource to the Windsor area. He served as the president of the Board of Directors and was co-chair of the Building Committee for the new Art Gallery, a $24-million project.
Currently, Temple is the volunteer chair of the Board of Directors of Windsor’s Hotel-Dieu Grace Hospital. In the 12 years Temple served on the Board, he has also served on various committees including the Planning Committee which is responsible for $103-million of new construction and renovation.
