Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) marks the grim anniversary of the 1989 murder of fourteen women, all engineering students, at Montreal's Ecole Polytechnique. Ten more women and four men also were wounded in that attack. The scars of that terrible day remain today, and they underscore the danger of ignoring mental-health issues and misogyny.
PEO remembers and stands with the engineering community on this sad anniversary. Today we remember:
