Public Appointments

PEO encourages and promotes the appointments of professional engineers to serve on government classified agencies and non-classified entities through the Public Appointments Secretariat.

Public appointees are members of the public that participate on the boards of provincial agencies and other public organizations. Their responsibilities include, but are not restricted to:

  • overseeing and providing strategic direction to a provincial agency
  • providing advice to ministers
  • resolving disputes

The Public Appointments Secretariat oversees all Ontario government appointments to provincial agencies and other community boards and organizations.
